Vesna Srnić is a professor of Art History and Comparative Literature. She has been teaching “Media Culture” and “Multimedia Culture” at the Croatian Faculty of Teacher Education in Osijek for 8 years and has taught “New Media Genres” at the board of The Faculty of Culturology in Osijek during 2010.
Dr. Srnic defended her interdisciplinary doctoral thesis „Electronic media and Aesthetics in Postfeminist Theory“ at the department of Philosophy of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb, in September, 2011. She has edited electronic magazines such as “Art and Ecology for Planet Europe” (http://planet-europe.sbnet.hr) and “Media-via” (http://media-via.net). Her international project “Glocal Multimedia Art: Urban Performance” (2010-2011) was created in collaboration with two schools from the US and Israel, and was realised with support from UNESCO and the Croatian Ministry of Culture. As a president of NGO “ARTHEA: Culture, Media and Education” in 2011 She initiated the project “Glocal Multimedia Culture,” focusing on aesthetical/ethical revolt against corruption.
Vesna regularly present papers at and participates in conferences in Croatia and abroad (eg. Croatian Academic Research Net (CARNet) conferences and the XV. International Scientific Conference Society and Technology, the symposium „Philosophy of Media” (Opatija, 2012), Arts and Sciences” conference in Munich, 2013, 4th International Conference on the Arts in Society (Venice, Italy), etc.).
She is included in the EACEA (The Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency) list of potential experts in 2013.
